The neighborhood of San Diego is inserted in the old city of Cartagena and revolves around the beautiful Plaza de San Diego. Its small streets are flanked by smaller houses than in the rest of the old town, all painted with intense colors and spectacular flowery balconies. The neighborhood is imbued with the bohemian air that young people who attend the University of Fine Arts and Sciences of Bolívar, located opposite the Plaza de San Diego. A number of restaurants and bars with a lot of atmosphere appear on the cobbled and narrow streets of the neighborhood.

Cartagena is a city to take long walks and explore all its beautiful streets. To get around you, you can also use taxis or Uber. Always have cash on you to pay taxis. Give the name of the place to the driver, as they don’t use the exact addresses as reference. When at the airport you can take a yellow taxi cab and please bear in mind you will be charged in Colombian pesos or US dollars. Do not pay more than COP $20,000 or USD$10.
